Designers changing the world, part II

Today packaging is one big polluter, you feel it every time you open your kitchen drawer. One of the worst is styrofoam, which is called “white pollution” in China, it comes in millions and millions of boxes, to protect the product. It’s trash, you can’t use that shit for absolutely nothing, and it’s toxic as hell.

So now there is an alternative, it’s Ecovative.

Made with mycelium, or in other words mushrooms (I love mushrooms) to make an incredibly resistant material which degrades really quickly. I had a piece in my hands once, the touch of it feels like brie cheese, other would say white velvet perhaps.
