Designers changing the world, part III

Is it possible that you never heard about this amazing project?

“Flow™ is a revolutionary beehive invention, allowing you to harvest honey without opening the hive and with minimal disturbance to the bees.”

We all know about the importance of bees and what they represent for humans and it’s food production. And, I hope, we all know about the problem we are facing with bee populations around the globe. This made think about having some bees of my own, there are some bees here in Brasil with no stain, harmless, but produce almost no honey. When suddenly this product pops up, it makes beekeeping something anyone can try, even in urban areas, as rooftops. It reminded me about the London Honey Co. They raise bees in the center of London, amazing!

Cedar Anderson created the crowdfunding campaign last week and has already raised 4,808% of what he pledged!

Take a look at this revolutionary product, and if you ever thought about trying urban beekeeping, buy it while the price is low:

Now I understand this product finally. You still have to be an experienced beekeeper to use this, you still need all the equipment, even if they advertise you don’t, AND you have to keep the bees from putting brood in the flow hive. It’s a cool product, don’t get me wrong, it’s just not a “super easy beginner” product like everyone is making it sound.

    • Yes, I agree with you, but still, every time you start something new there is a learning curve, especially when it’s something related with nature. I see this as an true revolution in an hundred year old human activity. I will try it out for sure, the only doubt I have is if this works as good with african bee, extremely hostile…
